The catch-release function allows control of a crane with two or more radio controls. Two or more operators can take turns working with the same crane without having to switch the control device.
Your advantages:
- The crane workload is optimised by sharing the crane.
- In many cases, this makes additional cranes unnecessary.
- This function saves a lot of time, especially with long distances.
- If another operator has a better view of the situation, they can take over the control and work from the best position.
How it works:
- The operator can take over (“catch”) a free crane by a switch/button on the radio control.
- The operator can release the crane for other users once finished.
- Extended catch-release configurations, for example, with 3 operators and 4 cranes, are also available as an option.
Combined tandem operation allows the operator to control up to 4 cranes simultaneously with just one transmitter.

- By mounting the load to 2 or more crane hooks, the load is more evenly distributed.
- The operator can safely move goods that a single crane cannot handle.
- Long and bulky goods can be safely transported.
How it works:
- The required cranes are selected by a rotary switch or a button.
- The labels on the transmitter operating elements always indicate which cranes are currently selected.
The focus C ensures the safe communication between cranes in tandem, trio, and quattro operations.
Your advantages:
- This module makes sure that when safety functions are operated, all connected cranes react in the same manner.
- If, for example, the operator moves one crane into the area of the limit switch, all other cranes also stop.
- The use of a CAN interface saves time for wiring and allows for the installation of logic equipment.
How it works:
- A focus C module for crane communication is installed on each crane in addition to the radio receiver.
- These modules exchange information between each crane.
- The modules are connected to their respective receiver by a CAN interface.
- Depending on the amount of information transferred via crane communication, HBC-radiomatic offers a wide range of possibilities with focus C.
With this function, where 2 trolleys are available, the operator can select either an individual trolley or both trolleys for simultaneous control.
Your advantages:
- If the capacity of a single trolley is not enough to support the load, the operator can use the radio control to get assistance from the second trolley.
- Bulky goods can be transported safely by attaching them to both trolleys.
Selection by button/ switch – how it works:
- The requested trolleys/hoists are easily selected by a rotary switch or selection switch.
- The operator can always see which trolleys are currently selected by either the position of the selection switch or by LED signal.
Selection by joystick – how it works:
- In this case, the trolleys are selected via the joystick.
- First, the operator activates the “trolley selection by joystick” function on the radio control.
- The pre-selection function is now on the horizontal axis of the hoist joystick.
- The respective trolley is selected by moving the joystick to the left or the right.
- To control both trolleys simultaneously, the joystick remains in the centre.
merlin® MAP stands for Machine Access Point and is designed for the use of more than one machine in a pre-defined group. In each of these groups, the operator can log on and off flexibly to every machine and work with it.

- merlin® MAP ensures maximum flexibility, additional operating comfort and reduces the need for hardware – this means lower costs!
How it works:
- Within a machine group, every machine is equipped with a merlin® MAP module.
- Each operator can log on to a merlin® MAP module with the transmitter, work with the machine and then release the machine for another operator – no additional hardware is needed.
With the cable option, the radio system can quickly switch between radio operation and cable operation, if needed.
Your advantages:
- The radio system can also be used in areas with limited radio operation.
How it works:
- By plugging the cable into the transmitter and the receiver, a direct data connection between transmitter and receiver is established.
- The radio link is deactivated.
- At the same time, the power supply of the transmitter is provided via the cable.
- For Ex-certified transmitters, the battery is needed as a support battery in cable mode.
