radiomatic® AFS (Automatic Frequency Selection)

Your advantages:

  • To switch the frequency, the operator simply has to turn the transmitter off and on again. The radio system then automatically finds a free channel.
  • This process is a quick and easy solution for the operator.

How it works:

  • When the transmitter is turned on, the radio system checks if the radio channel that was last used is available.
  • If this channel is occupied, the radio system automatically switches to a free radio channel.
  • If there are frequency conflicts later, the operator simply turns the transmitter off and on again.
  • radiomatic® AFS immediately searches for a free radio channel.

Adaptive Frequency Hopping

HBC-radiomatic's advanced, fully automatic frequency management comes standard with all our 2.4 GHz radio systems.

  • Manual frequency coordination with other radio users is not necessary.
  • The operator can work without interruption, even in areas with many radio users, saving valuable time.
  • This technology is approved almost worldwide, which makes distribution much easier; instead of different country-specific high-frequency modules, in most cases, just a single 2.4 GHz module can be used.

How it works:

  • Frequency management is already included in the radio system and works automatically by scanning for any available frequency band.

 

DECT

DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications and offers fully automatic frequency management.

How it works:

  • DECT technology works in a frequency range which has been reserved exclusively for these devices throughout the world. Therefore, this frequency space does not overlap and is not shared with other radio communication solutions. In addition, all radio participants must meet the same restrictive specifications which allows for intense simultaneous use.
  • The latest DECT standard ensures optimum performance and very low transmission latency. Since transmission uses several different channels and time slots, this technology allows for very large numbers of radio users operating in a common area.
  • As a defined standard, DECT-based systems treat each other respectfully and do not interfere easily with the radio communications of others. All DECT radio systems make use of their transmission channels to ensure each radio control user experiences as little interference as possible. The process is fully automatic, so it does not require operator intervention. As a result, transmission is vigorously protected against interference.
  • The DECT region can easily be changed by trained personnel in the system without having to change the hardware.

Why Frequency Management?

In many fields of applications, such as large construction sites or factories, a considerable number of radio controls are in simultaneous use.

These situations can be a challenge for the use of wireless machine controls. The simultaneous use of many radio systems on the same frequency channels can lead to frequency conflicts and ultimately to an automatic shutdown of the control.

When the number of radio users in a working area is known (e.g. in a factory), this challenge can be met by a precise coordination of the frequencies in use. The layout of the hall, the required ranges, and the number of available channels must be considered.
